Team Twiggy

Twiggy was an icon of her era, with her androgenous frame, Vidal Sassoon pixie crop and exaggerated lashes she was the epitome of  ‘60s mod. The sixties marked a time of change and revolutionised a new approach to fashion. There was a distinct deviation from the long skirts and lady like dressing of the fifties, as the hemlines were raised and the waist became an insignificant feature. The youth quake that was booming, meant that fashion was not only filtering up from the streets, but was also being influenced by and targeted to, a much younger market. ‘60s mod was the look of the era and Twiggy was leading the way, with her stylised, distinct look.
It appears however, that Twiggy’s appeal and fashion status have ensured her look didn’t remain stagnant in the ‘60s. Fifty years later and she’s still a referencing point and fashion icon for the fun, frivolous and over-the-top look of the swinging sixties. Her style continues to influence the fashion industry and season after season Twiggy’s revolutionary look continues to be replicated...
